Probably. There were no good choices. I think, more than anything, that’s what drives me screaming yellow zonkers: it didn’t have to be this way If we didn’t have venal media, if we didn’t have a rigged electoral process, if all elections were limited to federal financing, if, if, if . . . . There are probably geniuses limited to city councils right now who could be Congressfolk and Presidents and do it RIGHT.

I read one of the websites that start with something like, "Imagine the world is a village with 100 people," and go on to say, "If you own a refrigerator, keep you clothes in a closet, and sleep in a bed, you are richer than 75% of the other people." That really stuck with me. Oh, btw, I've been thinking alot about our differences over the current occupant of the WH. I'm increasingly worried that you were right. In response to Republican pressure, Obama just leaned on congressional Democrats to remove contraception from the stimulus package. Sickening. At the same time, I think McCain/Palin would have been worse. What a sad state of affairs that these were our only choices. Wow–about many things, but especially the banana peel. I taught freshmen Spanish when I was in grad school, but having taught high school too, I'll take the green haired pincushion over a smart ass 15 year old any day. Glad you had fun, and thanks for sharing!
